It is amazing to me how easy it is to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of this world. I don't think many of us get up in the morning saying, I hope my whole day is a blur. Children don't dream about growing up and being so busy they don't take time to enjoy life. I doubt if when you are lying down to take your last breath, you will say, "I wish I would have spent more time at the office."
Jesus came to show us a better way. This way that Jesus talked about wasn't very complicated. He usually said there were only two rules that needed to be followed. Yet, he said that we could live this way in this complex world. The Way is sometimes hard to put into words. It is better to see it than hear about it. It is better to walk it than talk it.
Our church is not a building. It is a group of people learning to live the way that Jesus showed us. We know by faith where we are headed and each day we are given a chance to experience what that means. How this works out in us is as varied as each person is from the other. But, as we focus on Jesus, we find that we are being changed into something more like him and less like the lump of clay where we started.
